A/S: Couple burnt to death at Tepa

A husband and his wife have been burned to death at Tepa in the Ahafo Ano North district of the Ashanti Region.

They have been identified as Kwabena Tabi 45 and Pinamang 40 years.

According to the information gathered, the couple was on a motorcycle going to market on February 15.

A taxi cab carrying gallons of petrol on its roof, climbing a speed rump, had the gallons falling onto the road at Betiako.

The petrol spilt onto the road and immediately ignited the fire and trapped the couple, who had also reached the scene on the motorbike.

They sustained severe injuries and were sent to the Tepa Government Hospital.

Due to the extent of the injuries, they were referred to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital but died on Sunday, February 18.

They left behind seven children, with the youngest being one and a half years old.

The driver of the taxi is in police custody, assisting in investigations.
