The Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association has announced their strike beginning tomorrow.
The regional chairman Jones Afriyie Antoh told uniquenewsgh after a crunch meeting on Thursday.
The Association has threatened to extend it to all health facilities in the Ashanti by Tuesday, if the embattled NSS regional director still remains on suspension instead of being sacked.
According to them ,they will resist any attempt to transfer the NSS Ashanti regional director Mr. Alax Opoku Mensah to another region. “we had heard a rumour yesterday that he is going to be tranferred to Sunyani in the Bono region therefore the Bono region director will come to replace him here(Ashanti region) ,some of our members too who are doing their service are also in Bono region so he can intimidate them”,Jones Afriyie Antoh.
He says the strike will commence on tomorrow (Friday December 2,2022 )from Manhyia Hospital, Nurses and Midwives will not be at post if Opoku Mensah is not sacked .
