The substantive case before the Asokore Mampong District Court involving the interdicted police officer and the final year student of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has been adjourned to January 17 2023 awaiting advise from the Attorney General’s Department.

The duo, Frank Adu Poku and Joel Osei Owusu were arrested on Friday, July 22, after they allegedly gang-raped a first-year student of KNUST on Tuesday, July 19, 2022.

Prosecution, led by ACP Kofi Blagodzi, told the court presided over by his Lordship Buabin Quansah, that the prosecution still awaits advice from the Attorney General’s office after a duplicate docket on the matter was forwarded.

The trial judge has subsequently adjourned the matter to January 17, 2023.
