A/R:CHIEF CONFIRMS ‘KICK BACK’ IN THE ROAD SECTOR,NANA NKANSAH BOADU AYEBOAFO

The Chief of Agric Nzema who doubles as a contractor Nana Nkansah Boadu Ayeboafo has alleged some contractors have to pay (Kick Back) monies  to some personalities in the road sector before contracts will be awarded to them and even work to be commenced on the field.

He says such demands doesn’t auger well for a diligent job to be executed by the contractors.

He was speaking to Kofi Asante on GhanAkoma current affairs program on Akoma fm in Kumasi, he indicates that ,these officials will demand kick back or monies from contractors before even visiting site to inspect projects. Road contractors pass through unnecessary predicaments before a single contract is awarded  to them.

“These people always expect you to give them some money before you can  begin work or even to inspect your project is another problem.The work which is not yet started what money do want me to give it to you? Kofi Asante!you can do your own investigations to verify how frustrated Ghanaian contractors enduring now a days.You cannot demand such kick back from me , i don’t have some for you ,even can’t  do and i won’t even talk to you”.

Nana Nkansah Boadu said he always want a genuine work done therefore he won’t pay money for contract.

Reacting to abandoning a road contract in the Manso enclave Nana Nkansah Boadu explained that he hasn’t abandoned the road as been speculated.

However he out of goodwill started some works on the roads by constructing some drains as he awaited official documentation to confirm him as the contractor.

However after several months of waiting and works done no official contract was signed

He  decided to leave the project till he is officially contracted.

“I have not received Ghs 1.oo from the government ,anybody can check from the feeder road department. i used my own money to per-finance the early stage but the contract has not given to me”.
