A 40-year-old man Kwaku Addai alias Atta Kuma met his untimely death at Chiransa near Senfi in the Bekwai Municipal of Ashanti when he went hunting with his friends and got drowned in river Oda.
According to the unit committee chairman Mr Amponsah Benjamin, The three hunters Kwaku Addai alias Attah Kuma now deceased, Samuel Obinim and Agyemang Collins went to the bush Sunday morning before for hunting with their dogs, they luckily saw one game Grasscutter, so they chased it with their dogs but unfortunately, the Grasscutter threw itself into the Oda river, so Kwaku Addai also threw himself into the Oda river in order to catch the animal and unfortunately for him got drowned in the river.
The rest of the two decided to remove him but they couldn’t, so they quickly rushed home to inform the unit committee chairman and the other members of the community they mobilised themselves went straight to the river bank and tried to rescue him but they couldn’t.
The body of Kwaku Addai alias Attah Kuma was this morning retrieved from Oda River after some rituals were performed.
He left a wife and three children.
The police were subsequently informed of the incident and the body has been conveyed to the morgue.
