Twedie District Court in the Atwima Kwanwoma District of the Ashanti region Presided by His Worship Anthony Asaah has remanded Osei Kwaku aged 55 years who killed his sister Afua Akyiaah aged 58 years with a machete after misunderstanding at Twedie into police custody for two weeks.
Speaking with Hon Augustine Osei , Assembly Member for Twedie Electoral Area who briefed the uniquenewsgh says the deceased Sister Akyiaah was very kind and helpful as well,however , her death is a big blow to the entire community.
The incident happened at Atwima Twedie in the Atwima Kwanwoma District of the Ashanti Region on Wednesday.
According to Hon. Augustine Osei, a misunderstanding ensued between the two siblings over a ride.
He said, the suspect, Osei Kwaku informed his younger sister Akua Akyiaa to convey him in her car to the hospital for a medical review.
Meanwhile, Akua Akyiaa refused to take his brother in his car to the health facility which generated quarrel between the duo hence began verbal scuffle.
This led to the intervention of their uncle, Mr. Owusu Adomako to resolving the issue by calling them into his house and spoke to them.
The two siblings after the short meeting with their uncle returned to the house where the unfortunate thing happened.
The according to an eyewitness in the house ,the suspect went to the kitchen, took a knife and stabbed her sister with the knife.
Akua Akyiaa was rushed to the hospital but unfortunately health practitioners on duty pronounced her dead upon arrival.
Sources also indicated the suspect is suffering from mental illness for some years now.
