A/R:Doctor-nurse clash: Manhyia hospital rejects ‘insulting’ director’s apology

Management of the Manhyia district hospital has rejected a public apology rendered by the embattled Ashanti regional director of the national service scheme.

Akex Poku Mensah was captured in a viral audio, verbally assualting a nurse-on-duty following a misunderstanding between the said nurse and a daughter-doctor of the regional nss boss.

The scheme has since commenced investigation into the incident.

According to the Dr Kamarudeen Korku Hussein, Medical Superintendent, Manhyia District Hospital, Management will not accept his appology on social media but rather need an official statement.

“we will not be satisfied with that appology,we want him to personally come to the facility and write official appology be brought to management that one we might accept that one ,it is the decision of the management”.

Speaking to uniquenewgh ,he says the managemant will not allow any friction henceforth between nurse -doctor relationship which might  disturb harmoney within the working environment.

He added, management has early putting down ameakable resolution measures to setting the issue.Management has assigned phsycologists to both victims to regaine from their recent trauma.

He also called on the public to be circumspect on their sentiments and devoid of fake news surrounded by the current incident.

Meanwhile, Mr Opoku-Mensah has apologized for his action.
He says it has never been his style as a leader.
“I understand the disappointment and appreciate the inconvenience my action has caused the general public as well as the Nursing FRATERNITY and Manhyia Hospital.

“This has never been my style but for a genuine reason to mediate a persistent issue between my daughter(Doctor) and a colleague nurse who I as well consider my daughter.

“I do apologize for any mishap and assure all, there shall not be a repetition of such. I look forward to maintaining a cordial relationship between any affected person,” he said in a Facebook post on Tuesday November 29.
