The Takoradi Harbour Circuit Court A, presided over by Justice Michael Ampadu has granted bail in the sum of fifty thousand cedis to Manager of Poly da Engineering Company, Xue hui who is accused of to slashing the throat of his employee in the Western Region.
He has been charged with the use of offensive weapon and causing harm.
Pleading for bail for Manager, Xue Hui, his Counsel, Akpene Darko Cobbinah told the court that the fact as presented by the prosecution was not entirely accurate insisting that at the appropriate time the defense team will prove to the court that the event on the incident date was purely unintentional.
According to him, the accused person who was remorseful reported himself to the police after the incident.
Akpene Darko Cobbinah said the accused person has been in the country for the past three years and has no criminal record or jumped bail for any offense.
He added that the accused person has been in police custody since September 28 and has been of good behaviour in that period. Counsel Darko Mensah argued that all two charges of using offensive weapon and causing harm are bailable and prayed the court to grant his client bail.
Chief Prosecutor Superintendent Steven Addom did not oppose the plea for bail from the defense counsel.
Presiding Judge Justice Michael Ampadu therefore granted the accused person Xue Hui bail in the sum of fifty (50) thousand cedis to be paid within 7 days into the court’s account.
The accused person is also required to deposit his passport with the court registry. The case has been adjourned to November 22.
Meanwhile, the injured employee, Isaac Boateng told our news team he is recovering.
“Am recovering gradually and i know i will be back on my feet soon. The company is now taking in-charge of my hospital expenses”,said Isaac Boateng.
