The Minority leader Haruna Iddrisu has described as a stab on parliamentary oversight the decision by the majority MPs to support the decision to allow the finance minister Ken Ofori Atta to present the 2023 budget to the house.
According to the minority leader, his side expected the majority to support them in their censure motion, saying the legislature has failed to protect the public purse.
Some 98 MPs had raised doubts about the competence of Ken Ofori Atta following the harsh economic crisis and had called for his sacking
The Minority followed up with a censure motion to get the Minister axed.
However yesterday a meeting between the President, NPP MPs and Party leadership after a marathon meeting agreed to allow the Finance Minister present the budget.
