President Mahama has appointed new security chiefs, including IGP Christian Tetteh Yohuno, as part of efforts to reform and strengthen Ghana’s security services.
President John Dramani Mahama has announced a major shake-up in Ghana’s security leadership with the appointment of new heads for key security agencies.
The appointments, made public on Friday, March 14, 2025, include:
DDGP 3 Patience Baffoe-Bonnie as Director-General of the Ghana Prisons Service
DCFO Daniella Mawusi Ntow Sarpong as Chief Fire Officer
DCI Samuel Basentale Amadu as Comptroller-General of the Ghana Immigration Service
These appointments come just a day after COP Christian Tetteh Yohuno was announced the new Inspector General of Police (IGP), following the removal of Dr. George Akuffo Dampare.
In a statement signed by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Spokesperson to the President and Minister of Government Communications, the Presidency emphasized that the appointments are part of efforts to strengthen and reform Ghana’s security services.
