The Ministry of Education has announced that a total of fifty million (GHC50 million) has been released to the West African Examination Council (WAEC).
The amount, which is part of the payment of its indebtedness to the examination body, is to support the conduct of the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) and the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
This is contained in a press release dated August 29 and signed by the Spokesperson of the Ministry, Kwasi Kwarteng.
“This disbursement reaffirms the Government’s commitment to fulfilling its financial obligations to WAEC, ensuring that the Council’s operations continue without interruption,” a part of the press release read.
“We wish to reassure all stakeholders, especially students, parents, guardians, and the general public, of our dedication to sustaining an environment that fosters seamless, efficient, and high-quality education for all Ghanaian students,” Mr Kwarteng assured.
