Three people have allegedly been killed at Baniekrom, near Mankransi in the Ahafo-Ano south-west of the Ashanti region.
A snippet of information gathered by Uniquenewsgh.com indicates the suspect is a fetish priest who has been hired to protect a concession at a forest reserve at Mpasaaso.
The deceased are suspected illegal loggers pushing to enter the forest but were met with resistance by the suspect,, which generated a fight.
The fight continued to Barniekrom, where the priest shot them with their weapon during what is believed to be a spiritual gunshot test.
The suspect is currently at large.
Meanwhile, the Ghana Police Service has commenced an investigation into the shooting of three people by suspect Osman Majeed at Barniekrom, near Mankranso in the Ashanti Region.
Police yesterday, July 2, 2024, received information to the effect that the suspect had shot three people, claiming they were part of a group that had come to attack him.
A police team visited the scene of the incident and conveyed the bodies of the three deceased persons to the morgue for preservation and autopsy.
Exhibits retrieved from the scene include one motorcycle, 8 spent cartridges, and four cutlasses.
Efforts are underway to locate suspect Osman Majeed, who is currently at large.
“We wish to urge community members to remain calm as the investigation into the incident continues to get the perpetrator arrested and brought to justice”.
