The Minister of Roads and Highways, Francis Asenso-Boakye, has charged contractors working on the Tema Motorway Roundabout Phase 2 work to work towards completing the project by October this year.

The project, funded through a grant from the Japanese government, seeks to reduce the heavy vehicular traffic on the Tema Motorway.

The project is currently 56% complete and was originally scheduled for completion by December this year.

He also assured the contractors of the government’s readiness to ensure the project was completed ahead of schedule.

“Yesterday, I had the opportunity to meet with the Ambassador of Japan to Ghana, His Excellency Mochizuki Hisanobu, in my office, and I can confirm that all outstanding matters related to tax exemptions have been dealt with,” the Bantama lawmaker said after inspecting ongoing works on Thursday, February 29.
