We will be called that the country is suffering from high pricing of food commodities due to the current fuel hike and depreciation of the Ghana Cedis.
Traders who trade in these food commodities which locally produced in Ghana inflate the price the moment transport fare increases.
However,this situation has brought hardship among the entire country’s population and burden in households.
But government has decided to initiate an interim measures to curb impasse in other to help in price decrease of food commodities.
Due to that the minister of agriculture Hon. Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto reveals a plan by government in carting food produce from farming communities to major market centers.
The intended plan appears to control food inflation in the country.
Speaking to farmers and other stakeholders in the Western region on Wednesday ,he says the ministry of Agriculture in collaboration of ministry of transport is going to assist in transporting farm produce(food items) from the various farming communities to the various specific market places in the country.
He also added ,the ministry will setup a kiosk on the compound the headquarters to store some of the food items for low sales.
