The Ghana Road Transport Union (GPRTU) says on Monday, October 24, 2022, new fares will be announced to the public.
According to the union, has been necessitated due to the continuous soaring of prices of petroleum products at the various fuel pumps.
Currently, Diesel and Petrol are selling at the pump for GH¢15 and GH¢13 respectively but the transport operators say it eroding their profit.
The Executives of GPRTU and Transport Ministry met to have dialog on the fare adjustment but ended in a deadlock.
The transport union is proposing an increment between 30%-40% adjustment to cushion their expenses.
The public has been advised to add an additional money when boarding commercial vehicles on coming Monday 24th October,2022.
