Two people sustained machete wounds following a clash between traders and some macho men at Akwatialine in the Asawase Municipality of the Ashanti Region.
The bloody scene on Tuesday, July 18 saw people run for cover.
The clash occurred when some traders allegedly made an attempt to stop a project for fear of being evicted.
However, some heavily-built men were seen at the project site to apparently neutralise the agitation of the aggrieved traders.
Their presence, uniquenewsgh news gathers, rather exacerbated an already tense atmosphere.
The ensuing heated argument escalated into fisticuffs, which later turned bloody, an eyewitness.
The injured were taken to the Manhyia Government Hospital, where they have been receiving treatment.
A spokesperson for the affected traders, Mr Nafie, alleged the contractor instructed the macho men to beat them up.
He says the contractor has defiled the pending interlocutory injunction, which served him to truncate the project but proceed to the site with macho men, which led to the attack.
The Two who sustained injuries are currently receiving medical treatment at Mahyia government hospital.
He reiterated that the case sent to court was not dismissed as claimed by the other party but was asked to follow the right procedure.
It was later revealed that the project was being spearheaded by the Asokore Mampong Municipal Assembly and this was confirmed by Presiding Member Matthew Amissah.
Calm has since returned to the area.
