A five-member committee of inquiry has been inaugurated by the Deputy minister-designate of Local Government Osei Bonsu Amoah in Kumasi.
The Committee Chair by Professor The Ophiuchus Adjei-Kumi from KNUST’s Department of Construction Technology and management.
The Committee has three weeks to investigate the cause of the Kejetia Market and make recommendations for implementation.
Other members of the committee are Francis Koffie, private legal practitioner, Kofi Ampong Valuer/property manager and real estate consultant, Daniel Kwaku Denteh deputy director General of the national disaster management mental organization (NADMO) in charge of Finance and administration and Emelia Ayebeng Botchway from the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council as secretary.
The local government deputy minister designate spoke to Uniquenewsgh after the Inauguration in Kumasi.
According to him, the committee will be given a fair hearing of all the parties to assist them in their investigations. It will also be open to the public to testify about the circumstance that led to the disaster.
