The second deputy speaker of parliament Andrew Amoako Asiamah has condemned the actions of some members of parliament who took pictures and videos of themselves during the secret voting last Friday to approve ministerial nominees and supreme court judges.
At least two members of the minority, a member of parliament for Korle Klottey Dr Ezanotor Agyemang Rawlings and a member of parliament for Ketu South Dzifa Abla Gomashie have confirmed through social media that they did take pictorial evidence of themselves while exercising their franchise which was supposed to be secret.
Hon . Andrew Amoako Asiamah while making a brief statement on the matter on the floor of the house said their actions undermine the integrity of the house.
The minority chief whip Hon. Kwame Agbodza Governs reacting to the statement indicated that it is unfair to make the said MPs the scapegoats when other members of parliament have equally exhibited unruly behaviour during voting referring to the night of the election of the speaker.
The minority whip wants the house to move past the issue and make sure the right thing is done in subsequent elections.
