Ashaiman Lives Matter: Gov’t gives 24-hour ultimatum to release persons at military custody

Convenors for residents who were brutally abused by some military personnel in Ashaiman have given government a 24 hour ultimatum to release persons who are still in the custody of the military.

According to them although they are against the killing of the military personnel, there is the need for the police to take over the investigations.

Addressing the media at a briefing in Ashaiman, a convenor and the spokesperson for the Ashaiman Lives Matters, Emmanuel Kumadey, indicated that the soldiers caused excessive damages to properties and kidnapped over 400 residents to Burma Camp.

He called on the president to direct the Minister for defense to pay for all the damages caused by the military personnel and compensate all the victims.

Some of the victims also share their ordeal they went through the hands of military.
