AGI rejects recent utility Tariffs increment by the PURC

The association of Ghana industries (AGI) has rejected the recent utility Tariffs increment by the Public Utility Regulation Commission (PURC).

The utility Tariffs increment AGI says will have a dire consequences in collapsing the beverages sector hence the move to reject the new tariffs.

Chief executive officer of AGI Seth Twum Akwaboa addressing the media in Accra expressed fret over the decision by the PURC to move the beverages companies from the industry to commercial bottling category without proper consultation.

The move by the PURC according to Seth Twum Akwaboa has increased water Tariffs to 172% for the beverages companies.
