The number of students facing charges of vandalism at the Krobea Asante Technical School has risen to 43 after police made 4 more arrest.
39 rioting students vandalized several items including private properties in last month.
On 22nd January, 2023, 39 students of Krobea Asante Technical and Vocational School at Asokore in Ashanti Region were arrested for causing damage to the school property.
The students were reported to have went on rampage over poor examination results.
About four government vehicles and two others owned by teachers were destroyed.
The school’s store was also invaded by the students resulting in the destruction of food items.
The Asokore mampong district court, presided over by His Worship Samuel Buaben Quansah, admitted the accused students to 2000 cedis each bail with one surety.
Sureties and all 43 accused students are report at the Effiduase police station once, every week.
The case has since been adjourned to March 2.
The head of legal and prosecution, Ashanti regional police command, ACP Kofi Blagogie, said they have taken finger prints of the destroyed vehicles to aid investigations.
He added that they are pursuing other suspects connected to the disturbances.
Counsel for the accused students , Lawyer George Oppong, was grateful to the court to grant them bail.
