We are disappointed in Komenda Sugar Factory-Sugar Cane Growers Association

Leaders of Central and Western Region Sugar Cane Growers Association  apologized to distillers (akpeteshie makers) for refused to sell their sugar canes tot them when Komenda Sugar Factory started operation from July to September2022, some months ago.

According to them, they sold the sugar canes to the factory, and now the factory has disappointed them (farmers) because they are not buying their  sugar canes again and therefore want to engage distillers again to come and buy the sugar canes.

Speaking to the Chairman of Sugar cane farmers Association in the Central Nana Kwasi Nsanewode, management of Komenda Sugar Factory and Board Members have disappointed “we sugar cane farmers for stopped buying our sugar canes because of that Christmas and New Year celebration we didn’t celebrate as we want
because of money”.

He said the farmers will advise themselves of such disappointment from the management to stop buying their sugarcanes. They asked management of Komenda Sugar Factory and Board Members why the factory is not working after President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo visited the factory since September 2022, “we need answers from you”?

They also called on members of sugar cane farmers, a full tractor of sugar Cane are now sold GH 1,500.00.
