A 52 year old palm wine tapper has been shot dead at Etsii Bewora in the Ajumako Enyan Essiam District of the Central Region.
Information gathered by uniquenewsgh Nana Yaw Asare revealed that, the deceased Kofi Adjei was tapping his palm wine as he uses when a hunter identified as Kobina Afful allededly shot him to death.
Report also revealed that, the suspect is not a hunter but decided to go to the farm to get some farm animal to sell for transportation to go back to Accra after the Christmas Celebration. The deceased who sustained gunshot in his head died.
Speaking in an interview with his wife who was with his husband at the farm when the incident happened Maame Ekua Yeduwa said, she was in the farm when she heard the gunshots, she called her husband but no response
She and her two daughters on the farm conducted search on the farm and later found her husband in a pool of blood dead.
According to the wife, they are strangers who just settled in the Abeadze Kyeakor to seek for job.
She said, his husband is not having issues with anybody in the Community but can’t tell whether the suspect intentionally shot her husband to dead or he mistakenly did it.
She is therefore calling for the Ghana Police Service to do thorough investigation to the matter.
Meanwhile ,some of the residents in the Abeadze Kyeakor Community disclosed it wasn’t the first time a palm wine tapper has been shot dead.
They said ,they are suspecting the suspect intentionally shot him dead because the the deceased phone was taken away by the suspect.
