Former President John Dramani Maham has issued the strongest caution yet to aspirants of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) ahead of the 10th National Delegates Congress on Saturday, December 17.

The former leader of the party has noted that some of the aspirants and their campaigners are deliberately associating his name with their campaign.

As has been publicly stated by Mr. Mahama, he has no preference and has not endorsed any candidate in the ongoing NDC national executive elections ,which climaxes on Saturday at the 10th National Delegates Congress,” a press release from his office on Tuesday, December 13 said.

Signed by his Special Aide, Joyce Bawah Mogtari, Mr Mahama said attempts are being made by some candidates to push a narrative that his supports their candidature despite his previous caution.

“Of paramount interest to [former] President Mahama is Victory for the NDC in 2024 to work with expectant and suffering Ghanaians to ‘Build the Ghana We Want’.”

He has promised to work with whoever the delegates choose and elect on Saturday.

The largest opposition party meets at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday to elect new national executives for the next four years.

It will be the climax of a reorganisation exercise that began at the polling station level. It will be followed, next year, with the election of a flagbearer for the 2024 elections.
