80% OF MAJORITY MPS DEMAND KEN OFORI ATTA AND HIS DEPUTY REMOVAL

The Majority Members of Parliament in the ticket of the ruling New Patriotic party have had in press conference this morning demanding the President of republic of Ghana Nana AKufo Addo to sack the Finance Minister Mr. Ken Ofori Atta and his deputy Mr. Charles Adu Boahen from office immediately because of their incompetency  exhibiting in management of the economy.

According to the Member of Parliament for Asanti Akyem North Hon.Andy Kwasi Appiah-Kubi who briefed the media on behalf of the 80% majority members caucus , they have had occasionally different allegations of conflict of interest ,lack of confidence ,lack of trust against the leadership of the  finance ministry.

He said the greater majority caucus and their constituents are also suffering from the recent economy hardship but their grievances have been channel to the president through their parliamentary leadership and the party leadership without response.

Mr. Andy Kwasi Appiah-Kubi says the causus  with strong desire want the immediate removal of the Finance minister and the minister of state in the finance ministry without further delay in other to restore confidence in the financial sector and reverse the downwards trend in the growth of the economy.

“The summary of our concernedly leads to plead that the minister of finance Ken Ofori Atta and minister of state at the finance ministry Mr. Charles Adu Baohen be remove from office, we pray that this prayer will be carry to the presidency”.

Hon. Andy Kwasi Appiah-Kubi added, until such persons made to resign or remove from office, the members of majority caucus in parliament will not participate any business government ‘by or for’ the president by any other minister.

“we hope that those of us the backbench and members of the majority caucus will abide by this prayer”.

He also reiterated, if their request is not responded positively ,they will not be present at the budget presentation neither  participate in the budget debate.
