President AkufoAddo has commissioned a 300 bed capacity accommodation for young soldiers at the 37 military hospital in Accra.
The 5 million cedi facility is expected to augment the housing needs of the Ghana armed forces.
The 300 bed accommodation project was started in 2016 through the internally generated fund of the 37 military hospital command but stalled in 2018 due to lack of support.
The Jospong group of companies came in with the needed support and solely financed the project in 2021.
The executive chairman of the Jospong group of companies Dr. Siaw frimpong pledged to continue to contribute to the development of the country.
President Akufo Addo reiterated his government continued support for the armed forces.
The president then moved to the air force base, where he handed over a 100 bed UN field hospital to the Ghana armed forces.
The facility, donated by the United nations was formerly a covid centre during the pick of the pandemic and will now be used as an emergency facility.
At the Gondar barracks, the president presented to the armed forces some 70 karmas utility vehicles, 20 BTRs, 70 armored personnel carriers, 20 husky armored vehicles, 65 assorted Toyota vehicles and a number of communication Gadgets at short ceremony.
President also inspected an armored bullion van assembling plant of the armed forces.
President Akufo Addo again visited the Burma camp, where he commissioned newly constructed CDS office complex and cut sod for the construction of general headquarters office complex and 2000 housing unit for the navy.
